A Filter Factory Is Founded in Huixian
In 1996, a filter factory in Huixian was officially established, opening the first chapter of what would become three decades of focused filtration manufacturing. The company started with a deceptively simple mandate: build air filters for heavy-duty vehicles and industrial lubricant filters that could survive harsh, continuous-duty environments — not just pass a laboratory test.

The founding workshop was modest. What set it apart was not its size but its intent.
A region built for filtration
Huixian sits within Xinxiang, a part of Henan province that would grow into one of China’s densest industrial filtration clusters — later recognized widely as the country’s “Capital of Industrial Filtration.” Even in the mid-1990s, the area offered something a young filter maker could not easily build elsewhere: proximity to material suppliers, process know-how, and a regional culture that treated filtration as serious manufacturing rather than a commodity aftermarket.
That environment shaped the company from day one. Instead of importing generic designs and reselling them, the company chose to develop its own filter constructions. In a market where most players competed purely on price, engineering ownership was an unconventional bet — and it became the first of three habits that still define the AIRPULL product line today.
Three habits set in 1996
1. Engineering ownership
From the beginning, the company developed its own filter designs rather than reselling off-the-shelf equivalents. Owning the design means owning the performance, the specification responsibility, and the ability to improve it over time.
2. Durability as a design target, not an afterthought
A filter that fails in the field is not a “good enough” product with a small defect — it is a broken link in someone’s production line. Every design decision was measured against a single question: will this hold up on the customer’s equipment, shift after shift?
3. Narrow, deep focus
Rather than chase every filter category at once, the company concentrated on the segments where filtration failure is most expensive for the customer. Depth beat breadth, and it still does.
Why it mattered then — and why it matters now
Those three choices were not marketing slogans. They were operating constraints that forced the company to get good at a few things instead of mediocre at many.
That discipline compounded. The in-house engineering habit is what later let the company build its own production machinery (2001), develop specialized screw-compressor separators (1998), and ultimately launch the AIRPULL brand with ISO 9001 certification after relocating to Xinxiang in 2008. The durability focus is why AIRPULL filters are specified today for demanding compressed-air systems across more than 50 countries. The narrow-focus habit is the reason the company can offer genuine depth across the compressor “three filters” rather than a thin catalog of everything.
We started with one rule: a filter is only as good as the day it keeps working on the customer’s machine. That has not changed in thirty years.— AIRPULL founding team
From a Huixian workshop to a global filtration partner
Three decades after that first workshop opened, the same standards run through every AIRPULL filter element leaving a 35,000 m² smart manufacturing park. The product range has expanded far beyond the original vehicle and lubricant filters — today it spans air intake filters, oil separators, oil filters, lubricants, centrifugal strainers, vacuum pump filters, and dust collection for compressed-air and gas systems worldwide.
But the question behind every design decision is unchanged since 1996: will this hold up on the customer’s equipment, shift after shift?
That is the standard set in a small Huixian workshop — and the one AIRPULL still measures itself against today.
